Would be a good run if the zl1 was on a tire. However I think the 170 would have it up to its limiter due to its gearing and traction. Car is a monster.

Tcu doesn't give it more hp just faster shifts maybe you mean ecu.

@@kyoakland Correct on HP, but incorrect on torque- the TCU limits torque-- ECU will only provide as much torque as the TCU will command. No unlocked TCU and you're torque limited.

Yes! New Garrett Turbo makes jam in stock form and high pressure and low pressure pumps are good until about 380whp. You can literally just dump E on the tank with a Stage 1 E85 tune and make well into the 350-360whp range. Like that they do mid to high 12s 1/4 mile.

Yeah low $30k for a base model GTi is pretty wild. I remember the mk7’s were going for $22k-$24k for base models. Not to mention interest rates are ridiculous now.

Actually in stock form it makes 240hp to the wheels, that computes to about 270+ at the crank. That's why it always performs better than what the rated factory horsepower numbers suggest.

I mean the MK7 with just a stage one was lower 12s and easily crept into the 11s FBO stage 2. So this is more of the same except the Mk8 just seems to have a little more juice…
